This surge in attendance reflects the growing global popularity of Formula 1, with over 5.9 million fans attending races throughout the 2023 season – a 43% increase compared to 2018.
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has solidified its position as a premier sporting and entertainment destination. International visitors made up a significant portion of the crowd, with 65% traveling from outside the UAE. The event also saw a shift in demographics, attracting a more diverse audience with a growing number of younger fans and female attendees.
The race weekend generated a significant economic impact, with attendees spending a combined AED 1.165 billion ($317 million). This further cements Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a global tourism and leisure hub.
Looking ahead, fans can expect an even bigger and better Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2024, scheduled for December 6-8.
