Canada announced on Monday that it will impose new sanctions against Iran, targeting two entities and eight individuals. The sanctions, which are the 10th round since October, are in response to human rights violations and the production of drones and ballistic missiles.
Senior officials from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Law Enforcement Forces are among those targeted for “gross and systematic human rights violations” in Tehran and northwestern Iran, as well as those involved in unmanned aerial vehicle and ballistic missile production.
The entities being sanctioned are accused of supporting the Iranian regime in disrupting and manipulating the online communications of protesters or supplying the LEF with tactical equipment used to suppress demonstrations.
