Tan Tan, July 9, 2023 – The UAE Ambassador to Morocco, Al Asri Saeed Ahmed Al-Dhaheri, underlined the significance of the 2023 Moussem (Festival) of Tan-Tan in strengthening cultural ties between the UAE, Morocco, and their respective people.
Accompanied by Major General Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of the Abu Dhabi Police and Chairman of the Cultural Programmes and Heritage Festivals Committee – Abu Dhabi, the UAE diplomat visited the UAE pavilion at the festival.
During the visit, Al Mazrouei provided the UAE ambassador with an overview of the pavilion’s exhibits, industries, and crafts.

In an interview with the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the UAE Ambassador expressed that the UAE-Morocco relations are deep-rooted and continuously evolving. He emphasized that these relations are supported by the leadership of both nations, who are keen on fostering collaboration in all areas.
Furthermore, the ambassador highlighted the UAE’s ongoing interest in participating in the Tan-Tan Cultural Festival sessions, emphasizing the nation’s pride in its national identity and the cultural richness of the desert, which is reflected in various folklore traditions.
Al-Dhaheri also emphasized that the UAE’s participation in the festival signifies the strong and enduring cultural bonds between the two fraternal peoples.
Representing the UAE at the event is a pavilion organized by the Cultural Programmes and Heritage Festivals Committee – Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with several UAE cultural preservation organizations.
The Moussem features a diverse range of cultural expressions, including musical performances, popular chants, traditional games, poetry contests, and other oral traditions.
