Windhoek, July 12, 2023 – The Namibia International Women’s Peace Center (NIWPC) held a Stakeholders engagement with members of the Diplomatic corps and development partners at the Hilton Hotel. The objective of the meeting was to share NIWPC’s strategic plan for the years 2023 to 2028, fostering collaboration and providing an operational overview.

Hon. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, emphasized Namibia’s commitment to the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) Agenda and the effective implementation of UNSCR 1325. Notable commemorations, such as the UN’s 75th anniversary, the Beijing Platform for Action, and the 20th anniversary of UNSCR adoption, have further strengthened Namibia’s dedication to leading the WPS Agenda.

As the first Southern African WPS Centre, the NIWPC strives to become a Center of Excellence, focusing on WPS activities in the region. The center aims to enhance regional and international innovation, facilitate inter-generational dialogues, and collaborate with other centers to generate gender and age-disaggregated data on the WPS Agenda.
