Juba, 2nd August 2023 – President Salva Kiir of South Sudan has been extended an invitation by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Bin Salman, to partake in the upcoming Saudi-African Summit scheduled for November later this year.
The cordial message was personally conveyed to President Kiir by Prince Advisor Ahmed Kattan during his visit to Juba on Wednesday.
During the interaction, Kattan also appealed to South Sudan to extend its support towards Saudi Arabia’s aspiration to host the prestigious 2030 Expo.
Expressing their commitment to nurturing their bilateral relationship, Kattan revealed Saudi Arabia’s intention to establish an Embassy in Juba, aimed at fostering stronger ties between the two nations.
In response, South Sudan’s Acting Foreign Minister Deng Dau Deng affirmed the nation’s enthusiastic readiness to attend the forthcoming Summit and to back Saudi Arabia’s bid for hosting EXPO 2030.
