August 4, 2023 – The Zimbabwe National Defence University’s 4th graduation ceremony witnessed a momentous occasion as two Zambian officers marked their successful completion of the National Defence Course (NDC) Course 11/2022. The ceremony, graced by esteemed dignitaries, including the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Dr. Emmerson Mnangagwa, celebrated the accomplishments of Colonel George Hatyoka from the Zambia Army and Colonel Victor Chisani from the Zambia Air Force.
Hailing from diverse nations, the course comprised a cohort of 35 participants, representing various facets of military and security entities. Among them were delegates from Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Pakistan, South Africa, Tanzania, and Zambia. Notably, the Zimbabwe National Army, Air Force of Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Republic Police, Zimbabwe Correctional Services, and the Zimbabwe Ministry of Mines and Mining Development contributed significantly to the course’s dynamic composition.

The comprehensive curriculum of the NDC was meticulously structured across four terms. These encompassed foundational theories intertwined with Zimbabwe’s domestic studies, followed by an in-depth exploration of international security studies. The subsequent terms delved into national studies, culminating in the final phase, which embraced the intricacies of National Defence building.
The ceremony resonated with the presence of Colonel Maggie Nakamba, Zambia’s Defence Attaché to Zimbabwe, who bore witness to this achievement alongside the officers’ family members.
