The UAE Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa, celebrated International Literacy Day on September 8 by spending the day with children from St. Michael’s Life Hospital. The embassy gifted the children with books to help them on their journey to literacy.
“We believe that reading has the power to transport you to endless adventures,” said an embassy spokesperson. “We hope that these books will help the children at St. Michael’s Life Hospital escape their current reality and explore new worlds.”
The embassy also donated books to the hospital library so that other children could benefit from the gift of literacy.
