New York, September 24, 2023 – The Second Meeting of the Contact Group of South American Foreign Ministers took place on September 21, 2023, on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA78).
The meeting adopted a Roadmap Proposal for South American Integration, which identifies priority areas of work and cooperation in the region. The Contact Group was established on May 30, 2023, with the objective to evaluate the experiences of different regional cooperation mechanisms and establish a Roadmap to strengthen dialogue and South American integration.
The Roadmap Proposal for South American Integration is a comprehensive document that covers a wide range of areas, including political, economic, social, and cultural cooperation. It also includes proposals for strengthening regional institutions and mechanisms.
The Contact Group of South American Foreign Ministers will continue to meet regularly to monitor the implementation of the Roadmap Proposal for South American Integration.
