H.E. Ntšiuoa SEKETE, the first female Ambassador of the Kingdom of Lesotho to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, presented her Letters of Credence to President H.E. Sahle-Work ZEWDE in the capital Addis Ababa on Wednesday.
Ambassador Sekete was commissioned by His Majesty King Letsie III in June 2023.
President Zewde, who is also Ethiopia’s first female President and an advocate for women’s equity and equality, warmly welcomed Ambassador Sekete.
During the occasion, Ambassador Sekete and President Zewde discussed the similarities shared by both Lesotho and Ethiopia and the potential that could be unlocked by strengthened bilateral relations between the two countries. They cited possible collaboration in areas such as aviation, tourism, and athletics, which, in addition to building economies, would facilitate and enhance the Africa integration agenda.
President Zewde congratulated Lesotho on the occasion of the commemoration of its 57th independence anniversary and emphasized Ethiopia’s keen interest in strengthening ties with Lesotho. She wished the ambassador a successful tour of duty.
