ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia – Ethiopian State Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Ambassador Mesganu Arga met with the outgoing UNDP Representative Mr. Turhan Saleh at his office today.
The two officials discussed the long-standing and strong relationship between Ethiopia and the UNDP, acknowledging the UN organization’s significant contributions to capacity building in various Ethiopian institutions.
Ambassador Mesganu reaffirmed the Ethiopian government’s high regard for the UNDP’s role in the country’s development, particularly in strengthening the National Electoral Board, the National Dialogue Commission, and the National Rehabilitation Commission.
Mr. Turhan, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to serve in Ethiopia, highlighted the UNDP’s close collaboration with these institutions and emphasized the importance and reliability of the partnership between the UNDP and the Ethiopian government.
Ambassador Mesganu commended Mr. Turhan’s personal leadership in enhancing the capacity of various Ethiopian institutions during his four and a half years in the country. He wished Mr. Turhan success in his future endeavors.
