The 1st National Bible Contest Advocates For Peace And Non-Violence Elections – Israeli Envoy

The Embassy of Israel in Nigeria in partnership with Christians United for Israel Prayer Outreach (CUFI) and Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on October 18, commenced the first National Old Testament Bible Contest across the Federation. Over 1,500 individuals participated in the competition which  was carried out virtually.

Some of the participants who took oart in the first national bible competition for the first stage displaying their certificates of participation.

Speaking to the Press, the Deputy Head of Mission of the Israeli Embassy, Mr. Nadav D. Goren stated that the theme of the competition is  “Living Peacefully in the Promised Land”.

He added that “the examination questions were taken from relevant chapters of the Bible. The selection of this theme is timely and it aims to encourage the Nigerian public to bridge their differences, and be resilient in their opposition to violence throughout the electoral process and thereafter.”

The just concluded 2nd stage consisted of 74 top scorers who competed at 6 different locations according to their geo-political zones. The top 12 scorers will proceed to compete at the grand finale, which will take place in Abuja on the November 14, 2018.

The contest has been eye opening given the yearning for knowledge amongst several Nigerians and the increasing number of interesting participants of the conference.

The organizers of this hope that the contest resonates a message of peaceful coexistence and will further develop the strong ties between Nigeria and Israel.
