The Africa Trade and Investment Global Services recently organized an advantage seminar at Movenpic Hotel under the theme “repositioning Ghanaian businesses to attract foreign direct investment.
The seminar which was very well attended by the business community across West Africa, Asia, America and Europe had the keynote address delivered by Mr. Bako Ambianda; Chairman of ATIGS Group and CEO and founder of Labacorp group Inc USA.
In his address, Mr Bako reiterated the plans of the ATIGS group to drive investment into the Ghanaian economy; he explained that as an investment mobilizing organization, ATIGS is ready and capable to drive 10 billion dollars investment into the country within a stipulated period.
“I had heard so much about Ghana from outside, and I must say the good report I heard about the country are very true, the hospitality, the culture and the general climate of the country is very inviting, I’m glad ATIGS took the steps to make its presence felt in Ghana, I’m personally happy to be here” he stated in an interview.
Mr Bako Ambianda revealed that Ghana is the first country after the United States of America to host an ATIGS subsidiary in the world. He used the occasion to appoint Mr. Wisdom King Adukpo as the Managing Director of ATIGS Net Hub Ghana Limited.
“Among other things ATIGS Ghana will assist African and International companies to tender to bid projects in Ghana, facilitate trade in Ghana and serve as a One-Stop-Shop for doing business in Ghana, Assist in the purchase of hotels or management companies or rebranding and marketing focused in Ghana, Help and assist African and International Investors interested in investing in Ghana, work with international companies willing trade in Ghana, using Ghana as a platform, Hosting trade and investment programs in Ghana, Seek airlines representation, hotels marketing or PR agents and serve as the link between USA, Middle East, Europe and Ghana”. He stated.
Other speakers at the Advantage seminar included Mr Emmanuel Doni-Kwame; Secretary General, International Chamber of Commerce, Dr Caroline Ackim; Executive Vice President/Founder, St Karol School of Nursing, Mr. E.B. Ashong Lartey; Director-Investor Services, GIPC, Mr. Francis Tetteh Opai; Executive Secretary-Tetteh Quarshie Heritage Foundation and Mr. Selorm Morrison; CEO of Chamber of agribusiness of Ghana/Chairman Ghana Agriculture Sector Skills Council.
Speaker after speaker spoke about the various opportunities available for investors looking for a place to invest in Africa. They also spoke about how the private sector can take advantage of the huge opportunities that foreign direct investment will bring to the country through the ATIGS platform.
On his part, the ATIGS Country representative and West African Coordinator, Mr Wisdom King Adukpo spoke about the plans of ATIGS to boost the Ghanaian economy through trade. He mentioned how ATIGS Ghana is strategically going to work with the secretariat of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (ACFTA) and the Ghana Investment Promotion Center to make Ghana the preferred destination for foreign investors.
