The renowned Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) Museum in Zurich, Switzerland, is set to stage an exhibition designed to showcase football’s creative 150-year history. It is organized to educate and entertain fans of the beautiful game about the “holy relics” and the creative history of the world’s most popular sport.
The exhibition referred to as “Designing the Beautiful Game” was first held in 2022 in one of London’s landmarks, London’s Design Museum.
It was FIFA’s first and only major exhibition centered on the creative design side of football.
Meanwhile, the exhibition will also have on display football-related artifacts under the custody of FIFA museums.
These artifacts will include historical on-field documents and instruments such as footballs used in memorable games, especially in World Cup finals, penalty cards, and tactical books.
In the spirit of the moment, Ian Rush, a Welshman and one of Liverpool’s legends, supported the museum when he visited barely a week ago. He donated one of his special boots, a Nike Tiempo, and a jersey he wore to the 1986 FA Cup Final.
In the said game, he scored two goals, bringing Liverpool a double in what was one of his remarkable football moments.
However, the organizers of the exhibition stated that it will cover a wide range of creative areas in football. It said that the exhibition will showcase ancient and modern stadium architectural masterpieces, evergreen jersey designs, match days, film and photo displays, graphics, and sounds.
FIFA has reiterated its commitment to ensuring that the exhibition, which is scheduled to take place on February 25, 2024, will be a huge success.
A statement from the organization further stated its plans to ensure that the exhibition is staged in two more countries.
