With more than two decades of leadership spanning public and private sectors, Pete Kristofferson has built a reputation for bridging global trade and strategic communication. As the founder of both the Global Trade Alliance of America and The Worldwide Capital Media Group, Kristofferson has created platforms that support international business and amplify key voices in the global marketplace.
In this interview, he shares his journey, the vision behind these ventures, and the unique ways they intersect to drive growth and collaboration in the ever-evolving world of international trade and diplomacy.
Pete, with over 20 years of experience in leadership across public and private sectors, what motivated you to establish the Global Trade Alliance of America and The Worldwide Capital Media Group? How do these roles complement each other in your career?
Thank you for your question. My motivation for establishing the Global Trade Alliance of America stemmed from a desire to bridge the gap between international trade and policy, ensuring that businesses of all sizes have the resources and connections they need to succeed on a global scale. The Worldwide Capital Media Group was a natural extension of this mission, focusing on strategic communication and media relations to amplify the voices and narratives that matter in the global market.
These roles complement each other by allowing me to leverage my experience in leadership across both sectors, combining policy, trade, and media expertise to drive impactful results. Through these initiatives, I aim to create synergies that benefit both the business community and the broader economy.
As President and CEO of the Global Trade Alliance of America, what strategies have you found most effective in advocating for business interests and influencing legislation or regulation? Can you share a recent example of a success story?
As President and CEO of the Global Trade Alliance of America, I’ve found that building strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders—both in government and the business community—is crucial for effectively advocating for business interests. A strategy that has proven particularly effective is leveraging data-driven insights to clearly demonstrate the economic impact of proposed legislation or regulation, which resonates well with policymakers.
One recent success story involved our advocacy efforts around a proposed trade regulation that would have imposed significant restrictions on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). By presenting detailed economic analysis and coordinating with industry leaders, we were able to illustrate the potential negative impact on job creation and economic growth. As a result, the regulation was revised to better support SMEs, while still achieving the intended regulatory goals.
This outcome not only protected the interests of our members but also strengthened our reputation as a reliable and knowledgeable partner in policy discussions.

We’ve also launched educational and cultural exchange programs that promote mutual understanding and goodwill, laying the groundwork for stronger diplomatic relations.
These efforts have not only helped to strengthen the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and the United States but have also positioned the Congress as a key player in the broader context of international cooperation.
Bulgaria Congress of the United States of America play a pivotal role in shaping diplomatic relations and fostering international cooperation, particularly when it comes to immigration policy and its broader implications. Given your dual background in international business and political science, how have you seen these disciplines intersect in your work, especially in fostering relationships between businesses and governments?
My background in both international business and political science has given me a unique perspective on the ways these disciplines intersect, particularly in fostering relationships between businesses and governments. In my work, I’ve found that understanding the political landscape is crucial for navigating the complexities of international business. Governments often play a key role in shaping the environment in which businesses operate, through policies, regulations, and diplomatic relations.
This intersection is especially evident in areas such as trade negotiations, where businesses must align their strategies with political realities. For example, while leading the Global Trade Alliance of America, I’ve had to leverage my understanding of political science to advocate for favorable trade policies that benefit our members. At the same time, my business acumen helps me communicate the economic impact of these policies to government officials, ensuring that both sides understand the mutual benefits of cooperation.
Ultimately, fostering strong relationships between businesses and governments requires a balance of diplomacy, strategic thinking, and an ability to see the bigger picture. This dual background has allowed me to bridge the gap between these two worlds, facilitating collaborations that are both economically and politically advantageous.
For example, when working with the Global Trade Alliance of America, I’ve had to strategically engage with government officials to advocate for trade policies that support our members. This requires not only a deep understanding of the business implications but also the political processes and considerations that drive policy decisions. Being able to speak the language of both business and politics allows me to build trust and facilitate productive dialogues between the private sector and government entities.
This intersection is critical in creating an environment where businesses can thrive while also aligning with broader political and economic goals. It’s about finding the common ground where business interests and public policy objectives meet, which ultimately leads to more sustainable and mutually beneficial relationships.
