France has appointed Mr. Laurent Bili as the new Ambassador to the United States, succeeding Philippe Etienne. Following his graduation, Mr. Bili joined the Strategic Affairs and Disarmament Directorate at the French Foreign Ministry, where he gained valuable experience in the field of international relations.
Over the years, Mr. Bili has held a variety of positions at the French Foreign Ministry and has served in several important diplomatic roles internationally. He has worked as a diplomat in Ankara, served as the Permanent Representative of France to the Western European Union, and advised the European Union’s interim Political and Security Committee in Brussels. In addition, he has held key positions in the French government, including as Director of the Private Office of the Minister Delegate for European Affairs and as a technical adviser at the Diplomatic Unit of the Presidency of the French Republic.
Mr. Bili has also served as the Ambassador to Thailand, Director of the Defense Minister’s Civilian and Military Office, Ambassador to Turkey, and Ambassador to Brazil. Most recently, he served as the Director-General for Global Affairs, Culture, Education, and International Development at the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, as well as G7/G20 Sous-Sherpa.
Mr. Bili’s extensive experience and expertise in international affairs make him an ideal candidate for the important role of Ambassador to the United States.
