The German Consulate in Nigeria, Tuesday evening, October 3, 2017, organised a Grand Reception at its 15, Walter Carrington Cresecent, Victoria Island, Lagos, premises to celebrate the Day of German Unity, (in German: Tag dear Deutschen Einheit).
The National Day of Germany which commemorates the anniversary of German reunification in 1990, was graced by eminent personalities, including former Interim National President, Chief Ernest Shonekan; the South-African Consul General to Nigeria, His Excellency, Darkey Ephraim Africa; Malian Consul General to Nigeria, Yero Sow; Commercial Counsellor, Austria, Nella Hengstler; Founder, Centre for Values in Leadership, CVL, Professor Pat Utomi; Founder Eleganza Group of Companies and Aare of Lagos, Chief Razaq Okoya, and his wife, Sade; Senior Pastor, House on the Rock, Pastor Paul Adefarasin; Publisher, Diplomatic Watch, Mr. Victor Gotevbe; President, Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce, NACC, Chief Olabintan Famutimi; Head of Department, Protocol, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Mr. Moses Akeke, among others.
The German Consular General, Mr. Ingo Herbert, who declared the event open, hailed the hospitality and industriousness of Nigerians, even as he felicitated with Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, as well as Nigerians on her 57th Independence Anniversary.
