Jarosław Lindenberg, a career diplomat and philosopher, has been appointed Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland. He will be responsible for consular and parliamentary affairs, Polish community abroad, as well as public and cultural diplomacy.
Lindenberg was born in Warsaw in 1956. He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy and Sociology of the University of Warsaw, where he also received his PhD in philosophy. In 1990, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Over the course of his career, Lindenberg has held a number of diplomatic positions, including ambassador to Latvia, Bulgaria, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. He has also served as Deputy Director of the Cabinet of Minister and Director of the Minister’s Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In addition to his diplomatic career, Lindenberg is also a writer and journalist. He has co-authored two novels and a screenplay. He is also a recipient of several awards, including the Latvian Commander’s Cross of the Order of the Three Stars and the Bulgarian Order of Stara Planina I class.
Lindenberg is a highly experienced diplomat with a deep understanding of the challenges facing Poland and the world. He is the right person to lead the Ministry’s work in these important areas following his antecedents.
Lindenberg’s appointment comes at a time when Poland is facing a number of challenges, including the war in Ukraine and the refugee crisis. He will be responsible for ensuring that Poland’s interests are represented abroad and that the Polish community abroad is supported. He will also be responsible for promoting Poland’s culture and values around the world.
