Saudi Arabia has accredited a new Ambassador to Singapore as His Excellency Mohammad Abdullah S. Al Ghamdi presented his Letters of Credence to President Tharman Shanmugaratnam on 6 January 2026 at the Istana. This ceremony officially marks the beginning of his tenure as Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Singapore.
Ambassador Al Ghamdi was among several newly appointed heads of mission received by President Shanmugaratnam during the credentials ceremony. During the meeting, he conveyed warm greetings from the Saudi leadership to the President and the people of Singapore, while President Shanmugaratnam extended his own greetings to the leadership in Riyadh.

He is fluent in both Arabic and English.
Before his appointment to Singapore, he served from 2023 to 2025 as Minister Plenipotentiary and Director of the Office of the Deputy Minister for Political Affairs at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His previous overseas assignments include senior political and media roles at the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Khartoum and Washington, D.C.
He also served as Deputy Ambassador in New Delhi, where he led political, congressional, and information teams, and represented the Kingdom at the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization. Earlier in his professional journey, Ambassador Al Ghamdi headed information technology divisions in Canberra and within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, adding a unique technical dimension to his diplomatic work.
