The Management of South African Police Union (SAPU), has ordered striking 10111 workers to return to their posts on Friday, September 29, 2017, or face disciplinary steps.

SAPU members went on strike in August, demanding a wage hike, reports EWN.

Police spokesperson, Vish Naidoo says that an agreement was reached between the SAPS and majority union Popcru.

Naidoo said that the deal means the strike by Sapu members is unprotected.

He said: “SAPS top management has today issued a directive to all 10111 throughout the country that they should attend to work no later than 29 September, which is tomorrow, or they will face disciplinary steps.”
