The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) has announced a new initiative aimed at empowering and developing Nigerian female musicians. The Women in Music Bootcamp, organized by Altém and funded by the AECID, will take place in Abuja, Nigeria from April 24 to April 28, 2023.
This boot camp is part of a larger effort to train and empower professionals in Nigeria’s cultural sector and aligns with the country’s sustainable development goals. The core objective of this boot camp is to empower and equip female music professionals with the necessary tools and strategies to succeed in the Nigerian music industry. This opportunity is available to all female musicians in Nigeria, including singers, songwriters, rappers, poets, and music producers.
Participants will benefit from a range of training opportunities, including learning how to design and manage creative music projects, gaining access to funding for their projects, growing their personal brand, marketing, and networking. At the end of the boot camp, participants will have the chance to showcase all they have learned and acquired.
Registration for the boot camp is mandatory and closes on April 20, 2023. Interested female musicians who have been seeking a platform to grow and develop their musical skills, as well as learn from experienced music professionals on how to be successful in a male-dominated Nigerian music industry, can apply via this link: https://embespn.aidaform.com/women-in-music-boot-camp
