Following the failure of early attempts at a ceasefire in recent days, some foreign government groups have succeeded in pushing through the Eid truce.
Through its social media account @GHQSudan, the Sudanese Army Front (SAF) said today that a three-day truce had been reached following hours of fierce fighting in Khartoum.

This follows coordinated efforts to negotiate a cease-fire from a number of political bodies, including the African Union, the East African regional bloc and the United Nations.
The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) claimed that their decision was made to allow Sudanese to observe Eid Mubarak.
In the tweet, the SAF also expressed their concern over the compliance of the three-day ceasefire by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The tweet read, “The armed forces hope that the rebels will abide by all the requirements of the truce and stop any military moves that would obstruct it.”
According to observers, they are expected to comply as the international community continues to put pressure on the two warring groups.
