The UK government has reviewed the Innovator Founder Visa route by effecting a significant change, removing the minimum investment portfolio cap that has prevented many start-ups from migrating to the UK.
Previously, the candidate for the Innovator Founder Visa needed to have a minimum investment portfolio of £50,000.
The new Innovator Founder comes with certain benefits, including a 3-year visa to the UK, indefinite visa access to remain in the UK when the three-year visa expires, and the option to bring one’s partner and any dependents not older than 18 years.
According to ukcitizenship.org, “The Innovator Founder Visa caters to both established businesspersons and aspiring start-up entrepreneurs who are keen on establishing a business in the UK. There is no minimum investment requirement for this visa, but applicants must present an innovative and scalable business idea supported by an endorsing body-approved business plan.”
“It is also necessary that applicants have significantly contributed to the creation of their business idea and intend to play an active role in its day-to-day management and development.”
