On Monday, June 9, ahead of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan held a high-level meeting with representatives from leading American companies to discuss new areas of economic collaboration.
The delegation included U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Eric Meyer, Chair of the American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce Carolyn Lamm, Vice President of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation Bethany Brez, and executives from major corporations such as Boeing, FLSmidth, Visa, NASDAQ, Air Products, Franklin Templeton, Morgan Stanley, and Coca-Cola.
President Mirziyoyev welcomed the growing engagement of U.S. businesses in Uzbekistan and acknowledged the interest in expanding commercial activities across various sectors. He noted that the meeting reflected a shared commitment to deeper cooperation and mutual economic advancement.
Discussions centered on potential projects and investment opportunities in several strategic areas. These included the development and processing of critical raw materials, advancements in artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure, and upgrades in transport and energy networks. Additional focus areas included agriculture, tourism, and sustainable innovation.
Executives from participating American companies expressed appreciation for Uzbekistan’s ongoing economic reforms and improved investment environment. They shared specific proposals and outlined future plans for deeper involvement in the country’s growth sectors.
