London, United Kingdom —The High Commissioner of the Republic of Zambia to the United Kingdom, H.E. Macenje Mazoka, received the High Commissioner of the Republic of Ghana to the United Kingdom and Ireland, H.E. Sabah Zita Benson, for a courtesy visit on Tuesday at Zambia House in London. The engagement formed part of regular interaction among African Heads of Mission posted to the United Kingdom.
Both diplomats reviewed areas of bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on coordination among African Heads of Mission in London, including through economic and investment‑focused consultations. Their discussion addressed economic engagement, multilateral consultations, and practical collaboration among African missions based in London.
Macenje Mazoka serves as Zambia’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, a position she has held for several years. Before entering diplomatic service, she built a career spanning more than three decades in international broadcasting, strategic communications, and institutional leadership. She began her professional work with the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation and later worked in the United States with public broadcasting institutions in Washington, DC and New York.
She also spent around sixteen years with the South African Broadcasting Corporation, where she held senior management roles covering communications, stakeholder relations, and corporate affairs. Mazoka is reported to hold a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Howard University, a Master’s degree in Media Management from The New School University in New York, and an executive management qualification from the University of Stellenbosch Business School. Her posting in London places focus on economic diplomacy, investment engagement, and Zambia’s relations with British institutions and the Zambian diaspora.
Sabah Zita Benson assumed office as Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom in 2025, with concurrent accreditation to Ireland. She previously served as Ghana’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic and has held cabinet positions as Minister for Information and Minister of Tourism (including portfolios covering culture and the creative arts).
Trained in law, she is reported to have earned her undergraduate degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, completed her legal education at the University of Ghana, and to hold a Master of Laws degree in Oil and Gas. Her work in London centers on trade engagement, diaspora relations, and Ghana’s diplomatic outreach across Europe.
The visit also provided space for informal exchange on upcoming diplomatic activities in London and areas where Zambia and Ghana may align outreach efforts with partners in government, business, and the African diaspora.
