The United States President, Joe Biden has issued an Executive Order to immediately respond to the ongoing crisis in Sudan.
DiplomaticWatch gathered that President Biden gave the order today (Thursday), where he clearly stated that the US is committed to ending the conflict that is ravaging Sudan in the last few weeks.
While announcing the Executive Order, the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken said President Biden has authorized sanctions for those threatening the peace and stability of Sudan.
Secretary Blinken iterated the commitment of the US government to support democracy and promote accountability, especially at this period in crisis-inflicted Sudan.
It reads “Today @POTUS issued an Executive Order to respond to the violence in Sudan by authorizing sanctions.””We’re committed to bringing an end to the conflict, promoting accountability for those who threaten Sudan’s security and stability, and supporting its democratic aspirations,” Secretary Blinken added.

DiplomaticWatch reported that Sudan, a North African country has been thrown into an armed conflict when rival factions struggled to control the country.
United Nations stated that nearly 500 people have been killed and about 4,100 injured with more being recorded.
The fight is between Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the leader of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), and Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as Hemedti, the head of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
On April 15, 2023, Sudan crisis began in the heart of the country’s capital city, Khartoum before spreading to other parts of the country.
Meanwhile, several countries are already evacuating their citizens from Sudan. Countries like Nigeria, UK, US amongst others have sent aircraft to rescue their citizens living in Sudan.
