Today, Honorable Stanley K. Kakubo, Member of Parliament and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Zambia, received Letters of Credence from Mr. Wellington Chibebe, the Director of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Country Office for Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique. The ceremony took place at Charter House in Lusaka, symbolizing the continuation of a fruitful partnership.
During the reception, Honorable Kakubo reaffirmed the Zambian government’s unwavering commitment to collaborating with the ILO on labor programs within the country. The Minister emphasized the importance of this partnership in advancing labor rights, improving working conditions, and promoting decent employment opportunities for all Zambians. He assured Mr. Chibebe of the government’s full support during his tenure.
In response, Mr. Chibebe expressed his anticipation of building upon the strong collaboration that has long characterized the relationship between the Republic of Zambia and the ILO. Before assuming his current position, Mr. Wellington Chibebe served as the Director of the ILO Country Office for the United Republic of Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise in labor affairs, having also served as the Deputy General Secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation.
