London, United Kingdom – Her Excellency Ms. Macenje Mazoka, the new High Commissioner of Zambia to the United Kingdom, presented her Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Charles III on Friday, October 27, 2023. The ceremony took place at Buckingham Palace.
Later at Zambia House, High Commissioner Mazoka addressed various stakeholders during a cocktail and expressed her happiness that King Charles III had accepted her Letters, officially recognizing her appointment by President Hakainde Hichilema.

Mazoka noted that Zambia and the UK Royal Family, including His Majesty’s Government, share a long history. She said that over the years, the UK has remained one of Zambia’s key strategic partners.
Mazoka highlighted the UK’s development collaboration in Zambia, which seeks to reduce poverty and strengthen resilience through a strong focus on women and girls, health, education, nutrition, and social protection systems; promote green and resilient economic development through green and responsible investment; and support governance and democracy.

She also hailed UK Foreign Secretary Mr. James Cleverly’s recent visit to Zambia, where he announced a UK-Zambia clean energy partnership targeting green investment that includes up to £2.5 billion of UK private sector investment and up to £500 million in government-backed investments.
The High Commissioner also urged UK investors to take advantage of global copper demand, which is projected to increase by 600% by 2030, to invest in Zambia.
