Juba, South Sudan – South Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Amb. Dr. James Pitia Morgan, on Tuesday met with the Charge d’affaires of the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Congo to South Sudan, Mr. Adolphe Nkongosoli Sadiki, to discuss matters of mutual interest and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
The two diplomats explored various avenues for cooperation, including the development of common projects that would enhance connectivity between South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo. In particular, they discussed the possibility of linking roads between the two countries, which would facilitate trade and promote economic growth in the region.
The meeting also highlighted an invitation to South Sudan’s President, H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit, to visit Kinshasa for bilateral talks with his counterpart. The Minister described such a visit as an opportunity to deepen the ties between Juba and Kinshasa and explore areas of collaboration in various sectors.
Dr. Morgan further emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence between the communities along the border areas of South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo. He also expressed South Sudan’s commitment to advancing bilateral relations and exploring further avenues for cooperation.
On his part, Adolphe Nkongosoli Sadiki, Charge d’affaires, provided an update on his engagements with government officials in South Sudan. He briefed Minister Morgan on discussions regarding developmental projects, with a particular focus on the improvement of the road network.
