DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (December 5, 2023) – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Vietnam have taken a significant step towards strengthening their bilateral relations and boosting their respective economies with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on workforce development.
Signed by Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation for the UAE, and Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs for Vietnam, the MoU paves the way for closer collaboration in managing and optimizing their respective workforces.
The agreement is designed to facilitate the participation of skilled Vietnamese workers in the UAE job market, contributing to the country’s growing demand for talent across various sectors. Additionally, the MoU emphasizes the importance of information sharing and exchange programs related to labor laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and fair treatment for all workers.
Both countries underscored the crucial role the MoU plays in enhancing their bilateral ties. During the signing ceremony, officials from both sides provided an overview of their respective labor legislation and systems, highlighting their commitment to safeguarding workers’ rights and providing comprehensive social protection.
The signing ceremony and meeting were attended by senior officials from both countries, including Khalil Ibrahim Al Khoury, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation for Human Resources Affairs, and Pham Anh Tuan, Director General of Vietnam’s International Cooperation Department.
