Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The Ethio-Japan Business and Investment Forum opened its doors today at Skylight Hotel, aiming to attract Japanese investors to Ethiopia’s burgeoning economy.
Ambassador Gebeyehu Ganga, Director General of Middle East, Asian and Pacific Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighted Ethiopia’s rapid economic growth and vast potential across numerous sectors in his opening remarks. He emphasized Ethiopia’s commitment to strengthening ties with Japan, expressing his confidence that the synergy between Ethiopia’s resources and Japan’s technological prowess could significantly enhance bilateral economic relations.
Ambassador Daba Debele, Ethiopia’s envoy to Japan, echoed the sentiment, stating that the seminar would not only solidify ties between the two nations but also allow potential investors to gain a deeper understanding of Ethiopia’s diverse investment opportunities in agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, mining, and ICT.
The forum featured presentations detailing investment and trade opportunities, along with insights into Ethiopia’s incentivizing policies, legal frameworks, and business systems. This insightful information was followed by a vibrant discussion, fostering an environment of collaboration and mutual understanding between Ethiopian and Japanese stakeholders.
