Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has offered warm congratulations to his Congolese counterpart, Felix Tshisekedi, following his re-election victory. In a message to the Congolese people, Museveni lauded Tshisekedi’s contributions to regional stability and expressed eagerness for further cooperation.
“On behalf of the Ugandans,” Museveni wrote, “I congratulate H.E Felix Tshisekedi on winning the electoral contest in Congo, as announced by the Electoral Commission.” The Ugandan leader acknowledged Tshisekedi’s instrumental role in bringing the Democratic Republic of Congo into the East African Community, a move seen as a critical step towards regional integration.

Museveni also highlighted the positive impact of collaboration between the Ugandan and Congolese forces in dismantling the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) insurgency in eastern Congo. This joint effort, he emphasized, has paved the way for greater security and stability in the region.
Looking ahead, Museveni expressed his anticipation for “more brotherly cooperation with the People and the government of Congo.”
