MBABANE, Eswatini – Dreams took flight in Mahlabaneni, Eswatini, as 50 students proudly entered the doors of the newly opened Mahlabaneni High School. This milestone, achieved through a grant from the US Embassy’s Ambassador’s Self-Help Program, marks a significant step towards ensuring every child has access to education, a fundamental human right.
“We are absolutely thrilled to witness this remarkable achievement,” declared the US Embassy in Eswatini. The Ambassador, Earl Miller, played a pivotal role, dedicating a block of three classrooms on July 27th, 2023. “This collaboration with partners signifies our commitment to empowering communities like Mahlabaneni,” the statement continued.
Prior to the new school, students faced arduous journeys, travelling over 7 kilometers to reach the nearest high school. Now, with a dedicated space for learning, the future looks brighter for these 50 pioneers.
“To the students embarking on this exciting journey,” the Embassy’s message resonated, “Your potential is limitless, and this school is your platform to soar.” The school staff, students, and the entire community were lauded for their dedication and collaboration in making this dream a reality.
