Zambia is actively participating in the 68th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) currently underway at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The annual conference, which runs from March 11th to 22nd, 2024, focuses on accelerating gender equality and women’s empowerment by tackling poverty and strengthening institutions with a gender-focused approach.
A Zambian delegation led by Hon. Doreen Mwamba, Minister of Community Development and Social Services, is representing the country at the high-profile event. The delegation includes Dr. Chola Milambo, Zambia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dr. Liseli Sishekano, Commissioner of Local Government, Hon. Twaambo Mutinta, a Member of Parliament from the UPND party, Ms. Rheka Mhango, Deputy Governor of Administration at the Bank of Zambia, and Ms. Maggie Chinyama, Commissioner of the Local Government Commission.
