Kester Ephraim Kaphaizi has officially begun his duties as Malawi’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, presenting his credentials to President Sahle-Work Zewde in Addis Ababa on March 14th, 2024.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Kaphaizi highlighted the importance of fostering even stronger relations between the two African nations. He pinpointed the Malawi-Ethiopia Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation (JPCC) as a key mechanism for achieving this goal. The JPCC facilitates collaboration across various sectors, promoting economic and social development for both countries.
President Sahle-Work expressed Ethiopia’s full support to Ambassador Kaphaizi throughout his tenure. Their discussions also touched upon pressing regional issues, including irregular migration, human trafficking, and smuggling.
