Accra, Ghana – The African Union (AU) kicked off its second Reflection Forum on Unconstitutional Changes of Government in Africa on monday, March 18th, 2024. Themed “Robust Response, Deepening Democracy and Sustainable Security,” the forum brings together policymakers, civil society organizations, and representatives from across the continent.
The first day focused on understanding the current state of democracy and governance in Africa, evaluating progress made since the first forum, and analyzing the root causes of unconstitutional power grabs.
