The Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) unveiled its ambitious 10-Year Strategy on Wednesday, marking a significant turning point in the organization’s history. This comprehensive plan, meticulously crafted through extensive consultations with stakeholders, outlines a long-term roadmap for harnessing Lesotho’s water resources and electricity generation for sustainable socio-economic development.
The ceremony boasted the presence of Lesotho’s Prime Minister and the Minister of Natural Resources, underscoring the national significance of the LHDA’s vision.
Previously, the LHDA operated with 3-year strategic plans. However, recognizing the long-term nature of achieving tangible development and improving Basotho livelihoods, the Authority opted for a 10-year horizon. This shift signifies a steadfast commitment to long-term planning and collaboration.
“The launch represents a crucial tipping point,” declared LHDA representatives. “We are publicly committing to ambitious yet achievable goals for Lesotho’s development.”
