Tech mogul Elon Musk has sparked controversy with his latest comments on the ongoing war in Ukraine. Musk suggests that if Ukraine doesn’t negotiate with Russia, the country faces a significant risk of losing the strategic port city of Odessa and critical access to the Black Sea.
“Whether Ukraine loses all access to the Black Sea or not is, in my view, the real remaining question,” Musk wrote on social media. He urged for a negotiated settlement to avoid such an outcome.
These comments came in response to a post by another businessman concerning the war. Musk also criticized Ukraine’s past military actions, calling a summer counteroffensive a “tragic waste of life.”
Musk’s statements have drawn criticism for appearing to favor Russia’s position.
