Dubai, UAE – The Consulate General of India in Dubai hosted a special program today focused on the health and financial well-being of Indian blue-collar workers in the city. Held at M/s Transworld in Jebel Ali, the Labour Awareness Programme coincided with Iftar, the breaking of fast during Ramadan, fostering a sense of community and shared experience.
Nearly 200 workers attended the event, alongside representatives from the company’s management team. Prime Healthcare provided on-site health check-ups for the workers, ensuring their physical well-being was addressed. Bank of Baroda officials also offered valuable financial literacy training, equipping workers with the knowledge to manage their finances effectively and avoid banking scams.
The Pravasi Bharatiya Sahayata Kendra (PBSK), a wing of the Consulate dedicated to supporting Indian expatriates, conducted an awareness session. This session informed workers about various government welfare measures available to them and outlined the grievance redressal mechanism should they encounter any workplace issues.
Consul-General of India to Dubai, Satish Kumar Sivan, actively engaged with the workers throughout the program. He listened to their concerns and provided guidance on the various initiatives undertaken by the Consulate to ensure their overall well-being.
