Lesotho’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the appointment of Ms. ‘Mantopi Martin-a de Porres Lebofa as the Honorary Consul for the Federal Republic of Germany. Minister Lejone Mpotjoana presented the Exequatur, a document granting official recognition, during a ceremony at the Qhobosheaneng Government Complex on April 11th, 2024.
Ms. Lebofa, a native of Qacha’s Nek, brings a wealth of experience to the role. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the National University of Lesotho and additional diplomas from the University of Life Sciences in Norway. Her dedication to sustainability is evident through her work as co-founder and Director of Technologies for Economic Development (TED), a Lesotho-based NGO focused on environmental protection and education. She also serves as a representative for the German NGO, Senior Expert Service (SES), in Lesotho.
Ms. Lebofa’s extensive background includes over 30 years in the sustainable development sector. She actively participates in various organizations, including the International Women Peace Group, the Lesotho Council of Non-Governmental Organizations, and the Lesotho National Climate Change Committee.
