Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, welcomed H.E. Stéphane Séjourné, France’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, on his first visit to Africa. The visit highlighted the strong partnership between the two nations, with a focus on economic growth and development initiatives.
Discussions centered on France’s significant contributions to Kenya’s infrastructure development, particularly in the crucial road and railway sectors. A recent agreement to upgrade the Nairobi Commuter Railway was hailed as a major step forward. This project aligns with Kenya’s commitment to sustainable urban development by improving transportation services and mobility within the Nairobi metropolitan area.
The two leaders also agreed to accelerate the implementation of a joint project to construct eight sports complexes across Kenya. Utilizing the Agora model, these facilities will not only enhance the country’s sports infrastructure but also pave the way for Kenya’s co-hosting of the 2027 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
