Cairo, Egypt – Egyptian authorities have dispelled rumors circulating online about a nationwide airspace closure. The Media Centre of the Egyptian Cabinet released a statement on Sunday assuring the public that air traffic control remains operational at all Egyptian airports.
“There has been no disruption to air navigation in Egypt,” the statement affirmed. All scheduled flights within the country are proceeding as planned, with the exception of those bound for destinations with their own airspace restrictions due to regional developments.
EgyptAir, the national carrier, confirmed the suspension of flights only to and from Jordan, Iraq, and Lebanon in response to airspace closures in those specific countries. Passengers affected by these cancellations are being contacted directly by the airline.
