Russia is pushing to move international discussions on security and stability in the South Caucasus out of Switzerland, accusing the traditionally neutral nation of siding with the West against Russia.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated Russia’s dissatisfaction with Switzerland’s actions. “We’ve repeatedly pointed out that Switzerland’s adherence to the West’s anti-Russia stance, including sanctions and support for Ukraine, violates their declared neutrality,” Zakharova said.
This perceived bias, according to Zakharova, has forced Russia to raise the issue of relocating the International Geneva Discussions. “We’re looking for a new host country whose authorities will remain impartial and avoid actions that harm any participants,” she added. Zakharova hinted that several countries are interested in hosting the talks.
