Accra, Ghana – Marking a significant step in bolstering diplomatic relations, Ukraine officially inaugurated its embassy in Accra on Friday, April 12th, 2024. The ceremony underscored a mutual commitment to fostering stronger bilateral ties between the two nations.
H.E. Maksym Subkh, Ukraine’s Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, expressed his appreciation to the Ghanaian government and people for their unwavering support in establishing the embassy. He emphasized that this move signifies Ukraine’s desire to cultivate a deeper relationship with Ghana.
Responding to the envoy’s remarks, Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong, Ghana’s Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, acknowledged the long-standing bond between the two countries, established in 1992 shortly after Ukraine’s independence. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s unwavering commitment to assisting the Charge d’Affaires ad Interim of Ukraine in fulfilling his duties and fostering closer ties.
The opening ceremony drew a distinguished audience, including members of the diplomatic community, Ukrainian residents in Ghana, and other esteemed guests. Prior to the inauguration, H.E. Maksym Subkh met with Hon. Ampratwum-Sarpong at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
