Paramaribo, Suriname – The U.S. Embassy in Paramaribo and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) joined forces to host a roundtable discussion on intellectual property (IP) rights at Anton De Kom University on April 9th.
The event focused on the importance of IP protection and how collaboration between the U.S. and Suriname can lead to a more robust IP framework. David Kellis, USPTO’s Regional Attaché for Suriname, addressed the gathering, highlighting potential avenues for cooperation in strengthening IP protections. He further explored how a well-developed IP system can contribute to achieving Suriname’s development goals.
