WASHINGTON D.C. – The White House directly contradicted reports claiming Iran tipped off the United States about its recent attack on Israel. National Security Spokesperson John Kirby firmly denied Iran provided any information regarding the timing or targets of the assault.
“This whole narrative out there that Iran passed us a message about what they were going to do is ridiculous,” Kirby stated. “Iran never gave us a message giving us the time or the targets.”
This contradicts claims from Turkish, Jordanian, and Iraqi officials who reported Iran gave advanced notice of the attack. The US maintains Iran’s intent was to inflict significant damage, not simply avoid escalation.
Previously, Iranian sources indicated Tehran planned a measured response to Israel’s attack on their Syrian embassy. However, the recent assault suggests a more aggressive stance.
