Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) took a significant step towards strengthening their economic partnership today. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan received Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, UAE’s Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, who led a high-level delegation on an official visit.
The visit focused on exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation, particularly in renewable energy, transportation, and logistics. Minister Al Mazrouei conveyed greetings from the UAE leadership and their desire for Uzbekistan’s continued progress and prosperity.
Discussions included meetings with key Uzbek officials, including Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, Investment and Trade Minister Laziz Kudratov, Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamahmudov, and Transport Minister Ilham Makhkamov. Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev also met with the UAE delegation.
Minister Al Mazrouei emphasized the UAE’s commitment to expanding bilateral relations, especially in energy, renewable energy, infrastructure development, and transportation. He highlighted the interest of Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) in investing in Uzbekistan’s renewable energy sector.
The UAE delegation comprised representatives from various government bodies and private companies, including the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Energy and Infrastructure, and Economy. Representatives from AD Ports Group, Etihad Rail, Mubadala, EDGE, Abu Dhabi Sustainable Water Solutions Company, and Masdar also participated in the discussions.
