Russia has called on international organizations to condemn the death of Semyon Eremin, a war correspondent for the Izvestia newspaper, who was killed in Ukraine on April 19th.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that Eremin died in a Ukrainian drone strike within the “special military operation zone,” a term used by Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.
Zakharova described the incident as a “deliberate and cold-blooded killing” and accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s regime of targeting Russian media workers. She claimed Eremin’s reporting aimed to expose “crimes” committed by Ukrainian forces.
While demanding a strong condemnation from international organizations, Zakharova also offered condolences to Eremin’s family and friends.
