Ifabunmi Adefunmi- Sands, an Arts,Culture and Health Expert and the Yeyeoba Omooba of Oyotunji African Village in South Carolina, USA attended the just concluded World Village Festival held in Helsinki, Finland as a Panel Discussant. The Panel Discussion centered on Improving the Status of Women through Art. The session focused on how art can be used to promote the status of women in African society, how women’s rights can be achieved without the use of violence and how art and culture affect development in Africa.

The discussion drew inspiration from the screened documentary, titled Burkinàbe Rising. World Village Festival takes place  annually and  this year it offered dozens of opportunities to over 1000 participants to experience music, dancing, theatre, literature, good food and topical discussions.
