CHICAGO- If elected Alderman, come February 2019, Longtime Hermosa resident and community activist, Colin Bird-Martinez, has vowed to provide real solutions to the problems of housing affordability, access to health care and education, and regressive taxes that overburden hard-working families in Chicago’s 31st Ward.
Bird-Martinez, an automotive analyst, who on July 18, announced his progressive challenge to become Chicago’s 31st Ward alderman, says the City needs to invest in ordinary people, not special interests.
He founded the Hermosa Neighborhood Association and serves on the Local School Council of Nixon Elementary.

In a statement by his media office, the aspiring alderman, said, “I’m running for alderman because it’s time to put community first in the City of Chicago,” he said.
“For far too long the City has prioritized the wealthy and well-connected, and ignored the needs of our neighborhoods.
“In the 31st Ward, we need real solutions to the problems we face, including housing affordability, access to health care and education, and regressive taxes that overburden hard-working families. The City needs to invest in ordinary people, not special interests.”
Meanwhile, as part of efforts to hear about Colin’s vision as Alderman, and how you may support his campaign to ensure a progressive leader that puts communities first in City Hall, is elected, a Kickoff Reception for the Colin Bird-Martinez’s Campaign for 31st Ward Alderman is scheduled for Thursday, August 16, 2018.

The Kickoff Reception holds at The Radler, 2375 N Milwaukee Ave Chicago, Illinois 60647 by 6pm-9pm.
