The United States Department of State (DOS) had its representatives at the latest Diplomacy Begins Here Regional Summit held in Charlotte, North Carolina, organized by Global Ties in partnership with the Department hosted by International House, Charlotte.

The Department assisted participants to develop their knowledge of the U.S. foreign policy, public diplomacy, and how exchange programs such as the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) play a role. This was executed through their exhibitions stands as well as contributions from speakers from the Department of State.

The Summit also had in attendance leaders in business, government, and nonprofit organizations in order to create new connections in North Carolina Region about exchange programming and issues.
